Tina's Story
Posted July 3, 2005
Me and my husband have been trying to
have a child since 1998 and have been unable to. After
trying for over 5 years without success we finally went
to an infertility doctor in 2004 and to our amazement
we have found out that my husband has a very low sperm
count (azoospermia or asosperima). I also have irregular
periods (I have always had).
Our only hope is that we would have to
use a sperm
donor with IUI.
My husband is a little nervous about that as was I.
He says he doesn't know if he can deal with the fact
that the child wouldn't be his biological child. I keep
trying to tell him that it doesn't matter where "our"
child comes from as along as we have one together.
I am trying to cope the pain that my husband
is going through along with my own pain. We have started
thinking more about starting the IUI's but have heard
so many horror stories about IUI's. I have heard that
they don't work anyway and that I should go straight
into having an IVF
done. I am needing anyone who as gone with this and
been successful to please email
me at and let me know that there is hope out there
for us.
We have longed to have a child... It breaks
my heart to have friends and family becoming pregnant
and I can't. Any information will be very helpful.
