Donna B's Story
Posted May 2, 2008
I want to share my story with all women,
who are trying to conceive, and are having problems.
I tried to get pregnant, from June 1985 thru September
1993. 8 long years. For the first 4 years of that time
span, I was married to a military guy. So, in family
housing, there were either women with kids, or pregnant
women. These women got pregnant on the first month of
trying. It was too much. So I divorced my husband, and
joined the military myself. I met another military guy,
we got married. But the people we hung around were our
age, and they didn't have kids either. We were more
into partying.
We decided to get out of the military after 4 years.
Mind you, I to this day have never used any contaception.
None. We got off active duty in June 93. In Sep 93 I
learned I was pregnant. :) We were both out of work.
It had been the last thing on my mind.
I waited until my period was 6 weeks late before I
took the home test. When I saw the positive test, I
screamed so loud. I couldn't believe it!!
I had gone thru an infertlity work up with my 1st husband.
I had PID (pelvic inflammatory disease). My tubes, ovaries,
uterus were covered with scar tissue. In 1987 Dr's went
in and removed all the scar tissue. They told me I had
a 90% chance of conceiving. In 1988 I went back in to
see them, cause I hadn't gotten pregnant, they did another
ultrasound, and told me the scar tissue had grown back.
They told me then, my chances of getting pregnant were
less than 40%.
I had the operation in 1987, I conceived naturally,
in Sept of 93. My son was born June 20 1994. He was
perfect. It was the most emotionally day of my life.
He is now almost 14 years old. He is a beautiful child.
The moral of my story is, to all of you women who are
trying to conceive, I have been where you are. One month
I broke every dish in my kitchen. My heart goes out
to everyone of you.
I wish everyone of you the best of luck.
