Brit's Story
Posted April 11, 2011
About five years ago we started trying
to have a baby.
After a year went by we decided to see
a doctor. We were soon diagnosed with male
factor infertility and were told that we would need
to go straight to IVF. The first
cycle was a complete bust. I did not respond well to
meds, even though I was young and had no known fertility
issues. The second cycle led to a miscarriage, the third
another negative, and the fourth another miscarriage.
At this point we did not know if we would
ever be able to have children, and we decided to move
to donor embryos. We were very lucky to find embryos
fairly quickly. We had our first FET
and it ended it yet another miscarriage. Now I was convinced
that I could not carry a baby and my doctor must be
missing something. But we tried another FET anyway.
We got pregnant again and this time, we stayed pregnant.
The pregnancy itself was a bit complicated, but that
is another story! Our little miracle was born on 3-23-10.
He is such a blessing and we would go through everything
again in a heartbeat. If you would like to hear more
